Not yet. As of 22 September 2026, Netflix has neither renewed nor cancelled Crew Girl, and nothing about a second season has been announced.
There are no spoilers for Season 1 on this page.
Has Netflix renewed Crew Girl?
No decision has been announced either way. Netflix's own guide to the show says there is no news yet about a second season. It does bill these eight episodes as Season 1, though, not as a limited series, so a return hasn't been ruled out.
How is Crew Girl doing on Netflix?
Solidly. In its first four days, Crew Girl pulled in 5.2 million views and entered Netflix's weekly English-language TV chart at No. 4.
The closest comparison is Finding Her Edge, Netflix's ice-dancing romance. Its showrunner, Jeff Norton, is an executive producer on Crew Girl as well. Finding Her Edge opened at No. 4 too, and Netflix renewed it on 3 February 2026, twelve days after it premiered. Crew Girl passed that same twelve-day mark on 22 September with no announcement.
That comparison only goes so far. Finding Her Edge was adapted from a popular novel, with readers already waiting for it. Crew Girl is an original story, so it has to find its audience from scratch.
Opening numbers are only part of the decision, too. Netflix publishes weekly viewing totals, but it also weighs how many people finish a show and what another season would cost, and it doesn't share those.
What have the Crew Girl creators said about Season 2?
They want one. Showrunner Vivian Lin told What's on Netflix the show could keep going as long as it wants to, and even floated spinoffs about rowing in other parts of the world, before adding: "No guarantees though." Norton said that if the show connects with viewers, he thinks they'll be able to go again.
What Is a Coxswain?
A coxswain steers the boat and calls the race without rowing. Here are the key rowing terms Crew Girl expects you to know. The cast have their own ideas. Sam Braun, who plays Josh Regis, would like to see the crew on summer break, out on the lake, with a look at their lives away from rowing. Kyle Clark, who plays Cam Dillinger, wants more of the sport itself, and says they'd like to step it up if they get more time.
When could Crew Girl Season 2 come out?
Not soon, even if the renewal comes this week. Season 1 was filmed around Victoria in British Columbia in the autumn of 2025, and it reached Netflix about a year after cameras started rolling.
Finding Her Edge shows the pace. Renewed in February 2026, it began filming its second season in August, and What's on Netflix expects it back in the second half of 2027. That is about a year and a half from renewal to screen, and Crew Girl hasn't been renewed yet.
TV Insider puts the earliest realistic window at late 2027 or early 2028. Going by how long Finding Her Edge is taking, 2028 looks like the safer bet. That is an estimate from those timelines, not a date from Netflix.
Who would return for Crew Girl Season 2?
Nobody has been confirmed, because there is nothing to confirm yet. Miku Martineau, Sam Braun and Kyle Clark lead the cast, and the finale leaves all three of their characters with unfinished business.
What is still unconfirmed about Crew Girl Season 2
Everything that matters. There is no renewal, no filming date, no release date, no episode count and no list of returning cast. Treat any date you see elsewhere as a guess.
We'll update this page when Netflix makes a decision, and when new viewing figures come out.
If you're still deciding whether Season 1 is worth your time, our Season 1 review keeps its spoilers in a separate, closed section.
